“The Duties of Brotherhood in Islam” by Imam Al-Ghazali

The believers are but a single Brotherhood. So make peace and reconciliation between your brothers. And fear Allah that ye may receive Mercy. (49:10)

Fulfilling the rights of our fellow brothers and sisters in Islam is a fundamental principle of living our lives as Muslims. Imam Ghazali in his encyclopedic masterpiece, the Ihya Uloom al-Deen, has dedicated an essay to the Islamic concept of brotherhood. In this workshop, we study a translation of this text in English. This study aims to foster an understanding between individuals regarding the rights and responsibilities associated with forming bonds for the sake of Allah Subhaanahu wa-Ta’ala.
